Ultimate Frisbee Unit in PE - now through Oct. 31st!

After a couple weeks now of practicing our frisbee throwing and catching skills, classes have moved on to the game of Ultimate Frisbee. Sometimes we play by ourselves and sometimes we play coed! Enjoy watching as I post different classes and teams playing our game! 2nd and 3rd hours' videos are posted below! Don't forget to check those out, too!

PPK Results

While our competitors did not place to go further in the competition, we are very proud of them, and  we'd like to thank all parents for giving them the opportunity to compete on the 18th!  !

Punt, Pass and Kick Competition Began Today!

We measured passes today in class for the beginning of our PPK competition!  (Rules can found when you click the PPK link!)

Our top 3 competitors in ages 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15 will compete at the Sectional Competition in Kinderhook, IL, on October 18, so MARK YOUR CALENDAR, and be sure your parents know to save the date to be able to take you should you become this year's overall winner for your age group!

Ribbons and certificates are awarded to the top 3 in each age group for the total overall top scores!  Recognition for the top passes, punts, and place-kicks in each age group will also be provided as part of our program at North Greene Middle School!

Parents, we will be measuring our punts and place-kicks next week. Take time to work on these skills over the weekend with your daughter if you can!  Those in past years who have experienced first-place and gone on to the next level to compete at a Ram's game (yes, YOU and your daughter get FREE TICKEST!) have found it to be a very fun experience that most will never get to be a part of! We have girls each year that get to go compete at that level!

Enjoy Greene County Day festivities this weekend, and find a physical activity that you can enjoy in the good weather. Remember to do some jogging and walking so that you stay in shape over the weekend and are ready to be back outside next week! Your street blocks at home are the same size as the one we use here at school, so walk the long and jog the short ones as we do in class for the 2 or 3 laps your class has been doing! Your heart and lungs will thank you! smile!
